The Key to my Heart

Posted by Dana Gustafson on Jan 1st 1970

Have you been enjoying the new product releases from Want2Scrap?!  Well, that's a silly question huh?  I was sure to snap up the Card Size Antique Keys w/hardware - Chipboard and put it to use right away on this card.  I love that Want2Scrap has great designs in dimensions for card makers and scrapbookers alike!  They think of everything!

This fun card evolved after a desk top cleaning session.  The background collage of papers originated as this.....

Oh my!  that pile of trimmings to the right of my cutter is always under development!  So I cleared away the recycleables and salvaged the pretty pieces and got busy making this card.

Another technique I want to share is alcohol inking multiple colors at one time on bling.  Here I am using a piece from Sleek Strips Silver Rhinestones- Self Adhesive.  The multi colored gem effect is made by tapping random dots of coordinating alcohol inks onto a felt inking pad and lightly tapping it over the bling.  I love the cool look to this custom colored bling.

Once the ink was dry, I was able to adhere the strips, all three at once by attaching to one side of the card and carefully peeling back the liner plastic for perfectly aligned strips.

Thanks for coming by and checking out my card today!
